Sleep Apnea

Do you snore and often wake up tired? You deserve to enjoy healthy restful sleep. A small sleep apnea device can help!

Snore No More

Do you snore heavily and wake up tired after a full night’s sleep? If so, you may be suffering from sleep apnea. The most common signs and symptoms include loud and chronic snoring, morning headache, attention problems, awakening with a dry mouth or sore throat, episodes of breathing cessation during sleep, abrupt awakenings accompanied by shortness of breath, and feeling irritable, depressed, or having mood swings or personality changes.

Our dentists can accurately diagnose and treat sleep apnea and are dedicated to improving your quality of sleep and quality of life.

What is Sleep Apnea?

Sleep apnea is a chronic health problem that causes disruptions in your sleep and breathing. The causes vary but you may be at risk for sleep apnea if you have a history of:

  • Cardiac problems
  • High blood pressure
  • Stroke
  • Diabetes
  • Depression
  • Snoring
  • Taking medications for anxiety or depression

Treating sleep apnea is very important because studies show that a person with untreated sleep apnea lives an average of 5 years less than someone who is receiving treatment. There’s also an increased chance of having a stroke or heart attack.

Sleep Apnea Treatment Options

Sleep apnea screenings are the single most important service we provide other than cancer detection, and we are fully committed to the safety of our patients.

In addition, at Spodak Dental, we offer many different oral appliances to treat sleep apnea. At our office most appliances can be made with digital impressions. This is more comfortable and allows us to have a digital record of the entire process. If something breaks or needs to be remade it can often be take care of without an office visit.

What They say

“From the first night, [the sleep appliance] has literally changed my sleep habits. I am just thrilled to have this appliance. It has made my life so much better”.

Bi•o•phil•i•a

noun a scientific movement linking human health and responsiveness to natural environments

Life loves life. It may seem like common sense to some, but it’s actually real science. Recent studies in biophilia have shown that people actually heal faster and perform better when surrounded by nature and natural light, which is why we designed every inch of this facility based on this principle.

Each operatory has floor-to-ceiling windows and live plants, which allow for a calming and healing environment for the patient. Doctors and team members also benefit as natural lighting lowers the occurrence of human errors.
