Looking for a Prosthodontist in Delray Beach?

Prosthodontics is a dental specialty that pertains to the diagnosis, treatment planning, rehabilitation and maintenance of the oral function, comfort, appearance, and health of patients who have missing or failing teeth and/or oral and maxillofacial issues. A prosthodontist is highly trained in cosmetics, dental implants, crowns, bridges, dentures, TMJ/TMD disorders and more, and is considered a leader of the dental treatment plan.

Whether you would like to reconstruct your smile for aesthetic reasons or out of dental necessity, a prosthodontist is able to create solutions to improve tooth color, alignment and spacing, missing teeth, harmony and balance, and the appearance of fuller lips, smile and cheeks. Prosthodontists are the recognized experts when anything needs to be replaced in a patient’s mouth, which can range from a single tooth, multiple teeth, or all teeth and gums in the mouth. They have spent an additional three years of advanced training after dental school to be able to treat and handle dental and facial problems that involve restoring missing teeth and jaw structures.

When choosing a prosthodontist, it is important to consider their advanced education and training, efficiency, and expertise with advanced technology. Prosthodontists have a special understanding of the dynamics of a smile and the preservation of a healthy mouth, all while taking into account the overall shape of the patient’s face. Spodak Dental Group in Delray Beach has in-house prosthodontist whose specialized training allows him to treat patients who need a full smile makeover or reconstruction. Dr. Juan Cabanillas is a 24-year veteran in the field of dentistry who completed a prosthodontics program from Harvard University/VA Hospital in Boston, MA, where he received the first honorary mention in the 22 years of the program. His rigorous training and experience gives him a special understanding of the dynamics of a smile and the preservation of a healthy mouth, as well as treating complex dental conditions and restoring optimum function and aesthetics.

Throughout the years, he has been able to help his patients restore their smiles, reduce oral pain and improve their self-esteem, not to mention save the lives of three patients by early diagnosis and treatment of oral cancer. Dr. Cabanillas is an active member of the American Dental Association, American College of Prosthodontics and the Academy of Osseointegration.

If you are seeking a specialist’s opinion, would like to improve the aesthetics and/or function of your smile, are missing teeth or have damaged teeth, or are interested in dental implants, you may need the expertise of a prosthodontist. He or she, with the help of a dental technician and an in-house dental lab, will be able to create a dental treatment plan to successfully enhance or reconstruct your smile.
