Dr. Jason Sheikh is a Florida native, hailing from Boynton Beach, where he was born and raised. His journey into the world of medicine was practically predestined, being the son of a cardiologist. His educational path began at the University of Miami, where he earned his undergraduate degree, subsequently embarking on an impressive academic voyage. Dr. Sheikh obtained his dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania and secured his medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
With dual qualifications, both a DMD and an MD, Dr. Sheikh possesses licenses from the board of dentistry and the board of medicine. His specialized focus on oral and maxillofacial surgery led him to an intensive six-year residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. In addition, he pursued further specialization through a fellowship in cleft and pediatric craniofacial surgery in Charleston, West Virginia.
Beyond his scholarly achievements, Dr. Sheikh’s commitment to community health is unwavering. He has actively participated in multiple mission trips to countries like Mexico, Nicaragua, Bolivia, and Guatemala, extending vital healthcare services to underserved communities. His dedication to handling medically complex cases is a testament to his patient-centric approach and his desire to help them achieve their unique smile aspirations.
Dr. Sheikh’s expertise is not limited to his professional practice. He has made significant contributions to the field of pediatric pathology and trauma through his valuable research and insights. His work has been published in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Clinics of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Moreover, he currently holds a staff position at Bethesda East Hospital in Boynton Beach.
Beyond his career, Dr. Sheikh plays a pivotal role in his local community. He serves as a deacon at the Avenue Church in Delray Beach. In his free time, he has cultivated a passion for marathon running, successfully completing the New York City Marathon and the Chicago Marathon, all in support of local charitable causes. He now sets his sights on conquering the remaining four world majors in the years to come.
