Over 35 million Americans are now wearing dentures. YOU don’t have to be one of them! The All-On-Four technique for complete tooth replacement may be your answer.

If you are over the age of 65, there is a 1 in 4 chance that you are faced with the debilitating effects of edentulism (toothlessness). That’s because better than 25% of Americans over the age of 65 have lost most or all of their teeth. While the statistics are an improvement over past generations, they nonetheless leave a large portion of the US population chomping at the bit for a solution.

While traditional dentures (removable false teeth) have long been the standard for replacing missing teeth, they are fraught with undesirable side effects. In fact, the National Center for Biotechnology Information reports that complete denture wearers across the board had greater experience of difficulties associated with oral health and psychological functioning. These negative effects include (but aren’t limited to) discomfort from ill-fitting dentures, diminished nutrition associated with difficulty in chewing, embarrassment over loose or clicking dentures, and the associated diminished self-confidence that accompanies such embarrassment. Other negative effects include continued bone loss, undesirable appearance, increased incidence of bacterial film and bad breath, and most recently, the reported health risks of certain denture adhesive materials.

Businesses are operating a lot differently today than they were fifteen years ago. Where you may have heard “spend, spend, spend!” in the late 90′s and at the turn of the 20th century, you’re now hearing “save, reduce, conserve!” Unfortunately, not-for-profit agencies and charities have witnessed a sharp decline in philanthropic support as a result of these recent changes in the economic climate. Giant corporate marketing strategists as well as owners of small to medium sized businesses are spending less and less money on “giving back” and more an more on staying afloat. Local Delray Beach dental practice, the Spodak Dental Group, is doing their part to help reverse this trend.

Founded in 1976 by Dr. Myles Spodak, the Spodak Dental Group looks at the economy from a different perspective, especially in concerns to charity. “You can’t always do the most financially sound thing if it means ignoring your social responsibilities to your community. Our practice would have never survived the thirty plus years it has if we had turned our back on our community just because the economy was going haywire” says Marketing Director Tanner Campbell. “Our team is comprised of an amazing group of people, all of whom hold each other accountable as human beings. If any one of us ever suggested giving up our charity goals just to save money there would be a riot in the practice. No one at Spodak Dental is in it for the money, that’s just not how we work here.”
